  • Co-Founder & Director of Allied Health Services

    Jennifer Jones-Hicks is a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and the Co-Founder & Director of Allied Health Services of Mindful Communication Group.  Jennifer has been a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist for over 9 years, and has worked in a variety of settings including school, pediatric private practice, home health, skilled nursing/assisted living facilities, and teletherapy.  She has helped people of all ages and backgrounds overcome communication challenges.

    Jennifer received both a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Communicative Sciences & Disorders from Hampton University. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is licensed and certified to practice in the state of Virginia, Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina.  Jennifer also holds a Virginia Professional Early Intervention Certification from the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

    Working in the school and pediatric settings has provided her with the skills to work with a wide variety of disability classifications. She has experience treating speech sound disorders, fluency, and language disorders.  Jennifer has also had the privilege of providing early intervention therapy services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays. While working in home health, she gained experience evaluating and treating adult clients with voice, cognition, and swallowing deficits.

  • Co-Founder & Director of Social Work & Psychotherapy Services

    Krystle Stricklin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Co-Founder & Director of Social Work Services of Mindful Communication Group. Krystle obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Hampton University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She has 10 years of experience in the field of community mental health, residential treatment, and intensive family services.

    Krystle uses evidence-based practices to treat children, adolescents, families, individuals, and couples. She provides psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families dealing with a host of life issues including depression, low self-esteem, anger management, ADHD, anxiety, parenting issues, psychotic and mood disorders, PTSD, trauma recovery, and grief counseling.

    Krystle believes that the counseling process is a collaborative journey and aims to create a comfortable and supportive environment of trust where she and her clients can explore emotional needs and overcome barriers that limit full potential. She works together with her clients to discover their hidden resources and strengths, bring new insights, and improve their quality of life. She combines several therapeutic orientations to meet the needs of her clients, including Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Grief, and Mindfulness Therapies.
